That is an increase of 2.3 million making it the fastest-growing age group and constituting 18.5% of the population. Healthy ageing allows people to enjoy a high quality of life and can reduce pressure on health and social care provision. Therefore, promotion and engagement in regular activity among older adults has never been so important.

REACT Interview

Once the research team explained the purpose of REACT, in that it was going to prove the benefits of physical activity on a broader scale, meaning mentally, physically and emotionally to older populations, I was really interested. But when the team spoke about the drive to provide policymakers with really credible information to help secure funding in the future then I was in. The Concept of REACT, the reason we need REACT, all came together and I felt I could be part of the project to make a change. In the end, I like helping and these sessions really do make a difference to people. But being part of the REACT framework means I could have a wider impact.
